Members of the Jackson High School and GlenOak High School Key Clubs annually join with Belden Village Kiwanis members to stage Tailgate Against Hunger, one of our many service projects. In 14 years, Tailgate Against Hunger has provided nearly 70 tons of food for residents of Stark County. This serves as a perfect example of our Club’s driving principle: We go the extra mile for kids.
Our club also provides scholarship opportunities for members of sponsored Key Clubs. In addition, to supporting Key Club members, Belden Village Kiwanis members join in service activities including food drives, park clean-ups, the Jackson Key Club holiday fair, run/walks and so forth.
Key Club International defines the clubs as: high school organizations sponsored by Kiwanis International. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing, and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions.
