  • Aktion Kiwanians Walk for Awairness

    Aktion Club participated in the Walk for Awareness event sponsored by the Stark County MRDD agency March 1. There were several hundred participants with disabilities and their guardians participating in the walk and numerous agencies providing information concerning assistance for persons with disabilities and their care takers. The program was started with comments from Ohio State Representative Jim Thomas and Stark MRDD Board Members Dan Sutter. Carmelita Smith led the walk.

    Tailgate provides some 5 tons of food

    A valiant team effort produced a 10,386 pound bounty during Belden Village Kiwanis Tailgate Against Hunger drive Sept. 29 at the Jackson High School / GlenOak High School football clash.

    Twenty-six crew members from Jackson and GlenOak Key Clubs, Stark County Hunger Task Force and Kiwanians collected food and donations including $500 from our club for SCHTF as fans streamed into the game.

    This brings the total so far from the 15 year run of Tailgate to nearly 68 tons of food.

    Aktion supports Stark County DD party

    Members of the Aktion Club provided the popcorn at the Stark County DD Tail Gate Party Sept. 28.
